Dr. Andrew Smith is an Associated Consultant with A.T. Kearney, serving currently as a Senior Adviser on an institutional transformation project for the UAE government. Prior to joining A.T. Kearney, Andrew served for more than 30 years as an officer in the Australian Army, working in many roles including Joint Task Force Commander for major international security events in Australia, and as an expert in chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) defensive measures. This included building the specialist CBRNE response capability for the Sydney 2000 Olympics, which became the national benchmark for CBRNE response. After retiring from the Army in 2013, he has worked in consultant roles in the United States and Australia. Dr. Smith has numerous academic and professional qualifications culminating in a PhD from the University of New South Wales, his thesis involved national homeland security decision making.
